Have ViewNX2 set up as my photo viewer I'll do that. I did remove all my files from Photos so it's now empty. Thanks for the info on uninstalling Photos. Brian Tillman offerd a different approach I'm going to try & hope that works. Yes, the problem is it doesn't appear in the list. Get-AppxPackage *photos* | Remove-AppxPackage Right click your Start Button, choose Powershell (admin)
You can remove the Photos app altogether: If you right click image files and choose open with - More apps, do you not get the option to open the image files with View NX 2 and if you check the box marked 'Always use this app' - that will set View NX 2 as the default viewer for those type of files
